Scripture for Revelation + Truth Works

HELP REVEALING THE HIDDEN AND DISCOVERING THE TRUTH

The Bible contains scripture applicable to nearly every life situation. Indeed, for believers, it is a guidebook, for some, it is a grimoire, others a book of parables, and yet others, it’s a complete work of fiction. I won’t debate the veracity or importance of what is contained in the Bible. However, I do feel that it is a powerful tool, and to what end it can be used depends on who is wielding it. It can be dismissed entirely out of hand, and is, by people who are not Christians. However, in the practice of hoodoo, it is a mainstay, despite what those who would like to come to hoodoo from other religions and practices may believe.

Whatever the case, it is my personal philosophy that the Bible’s scripture has been referred to, printed, prayed, and quoted so much, over its lifetime, that it has taken on a power of its own, and that one may not necessarily be a believer/Christian for the words to bring about a desired result and/or the needed assistance. So, let’s look at how scripture can be used to reveal that which is hidden and discover the truth.

Some of the hardest works to do are those meant to compel a person to do something that they don’t want to do. Especially when it is, most likely, not in their best interests to do so. Nine times out of ten, this is the case with people who are being deceptive. They don’t want to reveal the truth, so they must be compelled. The other approach to that situation (revealing that which is hidden/getting to the truth), is to not focus on the individual, but to instead draw circumstances and helpers who will circumvent the wall of deception/obstruction and reveal what needs to come to light.

If one does a search on the word “truth” in the Bible, you will get a bunch of results. You can employ this scripture when petitioning and include it at various other points in any given work. Any bit of scripture that speaks to you may be used. In addition, bits of applicable scripture may be strung together, creating a prayer that is perfect to be used when petitioning. This is especially helpful when you just don’t know what to say or when extemporaneous speaking/writing in not your thing. I have included, below, bits of scripture that I use for revealing that which is hidden and compelling the truth, along with some examples in ways they might be used.

To Compel The Truth From Someone Giving False Testimony

He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, you confess to all who will listen, and clear the name of [accused’s name].

To Learn The Correct Course of Action

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Speak to my heart the way I should go.

To Find Someone Who Is Lost

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Help us bring [lost person’s name] home.

To Compel A Witness To Come Forward

There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Compel [witness’s name] to come forward.

To Confront A Lying Lover And Get the Truth

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Confess your wicked ways or burn in a hell of your own making.
